Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop | Theme: Inspired by Home Decor

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing Home Decor Inspired projects. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects.

For my card inspiration, I decided to take a look around my home and see what I could find that could inspire some creativity (as my crafting mojo has been MIA for the last month or so, while I've been working on my studies and assessments).

And here is what I chose..... the light fittings in my open plan kitchen/dining/family room.

My card is super clean and simple (plus super quick), with only a couple of items needed to make it. I was tossing up whether to add a sentiment or not, and I decided on not. That way this card can be used for any occasion.

My card base is Basic Black and I have used a strip of Poppy Parade cardstock, to which I added Memento Black stripes using the double line stamp in the Swirly Frames stamp set.

My red panel is adhered to my card base using some of the new Black Dimensionals from the Holiday Catalogue (that way you can't see white against the black cardbase). And...TA DA...it's finished.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
If you enjoy what I do, I would love you to Like and Follow my Facebook page, and Pin my cards on Pinterest (or you can follow me on Pinterest).

See A Silhouette & Come Sail Away DSP | Designer Series Paper Sale Project Inspiration Part 3

Designer Series Paper Sale Project Inspiration Part 3

Here is part 3 of the stunning project samples created by Stampin' Up!'s Designers that I am sharing with you and I have some gorgeous 3D home decor projects for you today.

The Designer Series Papers used in these projects are included in the current Buy 3 Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Sale which is on until the end of September. Purchase any 3 selected packs of DSP and get a 4th one free.

You might find that you look as a pack of DSP differently and realise that perhaps you "do" need to get that design (I know there are a few that I was still on the fence about or had glanced over, but after seeing these projects I've changed my mind).

If you find you still aren't sold on the patterns/designs in a particular pack, then I hope at least you get inspired by the design or layout and try changing up the project using other papers you have or like.

If you missed part 1 using the Bird Ballad and Garden Lane Designer Series Papers, click here to check it out. Click here to view part 2 using Perennial Essence and the Follow Your Art Designer Series Papers.

Lets get inspired by checking out some projects using the See A Silhouette DSP and the Come Sail  Away DSP.

See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper

This project is quite simple to make. Using the non patterned pieces in the See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper pack, cut out a number of leaves using the 2 large leaf dies in the Seasonal Layers set. The number of leaves you need may depend on the size of wreath you to have to work with.

Add a loop of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon to the top of your wreath. You may wish to secure it in place with a little hot glue to stop it moving.

All that is left to do is adhere the leaves using your hot glue gun in an ombre rainbow as shown above.

Here is a list of the supplies and tools used:
Non Stampin' Up! Products: Vine Wreath

Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper

To make this project cut the DSP into 1/2" x 4" strips (tearing or distressing the edges on the 1/2" dimension). Layer your DSP strips from the bottom in a brick like pattern overlapping them for the background.

Use hot glue to secure the sea shells and driftwood in place.

Cut out some seaweed using the die from the Smooth Sailing dies, Old Olive cardstock and the Mossy Meadow patterned DSP. Adhere these to your frame in layers using a combination of liquid glue, mini glue dots and dimensionals. Drape a piece of Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Bakers Twine (with a knot tied at each end) across your driftwood and adhere in place with your preferred adhesive.

Stamp the sentiment from the Sailing Home stamp set in your preferred Black ink (Memento or Stazon) and the Anchor image in Night of Navy ink on to a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock and cut out using the co-ordinating dies from the Smooth Sailing dies. Adhere these to your frame using dimensionals and/or mini glue dots.

Perennial Essence & Follow Your Art DSP | Designer Series Paper Sale Project Inspiration Part 2

Designer Series Paper Sale Project Inspiration Part 2

Here is part 2 of the stunning project samples created by Stampin' Up!'s Designers that I am sharing with you.

Lets get inspired by checking out some projects using the Perennial Essence DSP and the Follow Your Art DSP.

Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper

This card uses a standard A2 imperial card base which has a card front size of 4.25" x 5.5". This design will also work with an standard A6 metric card base.

To create this card, start off cutting your DSP layer and adhering it to your Petal Pink cardstock base. The card uses 2 different DSP sheets/designs for the base layer. The join for these is hidden by the darker DSP strip that runs across the card. Stamp the flower and leaves from the Floral Essence stamp set in Petal Pink ink (for the flower) on to a piece of the lighter Petal Pink DSP and Mossy Meadow ink (for the leaves) on the green piece of DSP. Then fussy cut and adhere to your card base. Next tie a bow using Whisper White Bakers Twine and attach it over the flower. Lastly, stamp the sentiment (also from the Floral Essence stamp set) in Blackberry Bliss ink on to some Whisper White cardstock, punch it out using the Pretty Label Punch and adhere it to your card using Dimensionals.

Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper

This project uses the colour reveal slider technique - where the image appears black and white and when you pull the tab you reveal the coloured image below. This card uses a standard A2 imperial card base which has a card front size of 4.25" x 5.5". This design will also work with an standard A6 metric card base.

To make this card, start by cutting a piece of DSP to cover the front of your card base.

Using the 3rd & 5th largest Stitched Rectangle dies, cut out a frame using DSP. You'll need a 6.5cm x 10cm piece of Window Sheet and a piece of Whisper White cardstock that is just smaller than the outer dimensions your frame and an extra 6.5cm x 10.5cm Whisper White cardstock piece for your tab.

You'll need to stamp the marker/pencil image in the middle of your Window Sheet piece using Stazon and again in the middle of your Whisper White piece (you can use either Memento or Stazon for this). They need to line up so if you have a Stamparatus you can use it to stamp in exactly the same spot. If you don't you could stamp the Whisper White image on a slightly larger piece and trim down to just smaller than your DSP frame piece to be able to get them to line up. Using your Blends, colour the images on the Whisper White piece only.

For the pull tab, stamp the patterned image in Smoky Slate ink on a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. Using the masking technique stamp the word "up" from the "lets stay up late and craft" stamp in Memento Black ink and then die cut the shape using the corresponding die from the Arts and Crafts dies. Adhere this to the top of the Whisper White piece you put aside for your tab.

Put together the slider by adhering the sides and bottom of the frame and base Whisper White piece (with your coloured image) using Snail or a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Make sure you leave the top open so you can insert your tabbed slider in.

Adhere your completed slider on to your card base using some Dimensionals.

To finish off, stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and White Heat Emboss. Cut this and a larger DSP layer using the Layering Circles Dies and adhere to your card.
