All The Best Ribbon Card | Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Challenge #033

Hi and thanks for visiting :)

Today marks the start of our latest fortnightly challenge over on the Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Facebook Group.

Our latest challenge #AWLSU033 is an "Add Ribbon" challenge. So all you need to do to enter is just add some ribbon to your project. Easy as :)

Myself and the other group admins will share our creations to start off each challenge and hopefully help kick-start and inspire your creativity.

If you live in Australia and are interested in participating in our fortnightly challenges, click here to join the group :)

The layout for my card today was inspired by the new Paper Players Sketch Challenge #447.

****************************

Our new challenge theme of "Add Ribbon" was my suggestion, because I am sure there are a lot of you out there who, just like me, have a HUGE stash of ribbon that you either just forget to use on your projects and/or you only use a little bit so it takes forever to use up a roll.

So, if you are a ribbon collector like me.... then this challenge is for YOU!

As you can see I added some ribbon.... a lot of ribbon in fact, well actually it is pretty much the only thing on my card :)

I have such a large collection of different ribbons in a huge range of colours, I decided to make my card a rainbow of changing colours. For this card I have gone from pink to purple to red to orange and then yellow. I am planning on whipping up another using yellows, greens and blues.... so keep an eye out over the next week (provided my studies don't get in the way).

To create my card I cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock and pretty much covered one side in Fast Fuse. If you don't have Fast Fuse, Snail or Double-sided tape would work as well (I wouldn't recommend using Multipurpose Liquid Glue as it will seep through the ribbon).

I then went to my ribbon collection and just added 1 piece of ribbon at a time, starting in the top left hand corner, working my way down. Make sure you leave enough overhang to be able to tuck and adhere the edges to the back of your cardstock strip. For this I added more Fast Fuse around the edges on the back of my cardstock piece and folded the ribbon around and stuck it down.

My card base is Whisper White Thick cardstock and I adhered my ribbon panel using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment comes from the First Frost stamp set and is stamped in Poppy Parade ink on a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock. I have adhered it over the top of the ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals (as they are just a little thicker than the Mini ones) and I added a little double sided tape in the middle to stick it to the ribbon (probably not needed, but I didn't want it to move or lift up).

If you are interested to know the ribbon colour rainbow/order I used, here it is: Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Lovely Lipstick, Berry Burst, Rich Razzleberry, Fresh Fig, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Grapefruit Grove, Peekaboo Peach, Crushed Curry and Hello Honey.

Most of the ribbons I have used are retired and so are some of the colours, but you could create this using any ribbons you happen to have at home.

Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
