Let It Ride | Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Challenge #031

Hi and thanks for visiting :)

Today marks the start of our latest fortnightly challenge over on the Aussies Who Love Stampin' Up! Facebook Group.

Our latest challenge #AWLSU031 is a CASE the Catty challenge.

Take any inspiration you like from the below project (if you'd like to see this project in the catalogue, you'll find it on page 127 in the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue)

Myself and the other group admins will share our creations to start off each challenge and hopefully help kick-start and inspire your creativity.

If you live in Australia and are interested in participating in our fortnightly challenges, click here to join the group :)

The colour inspiration for my card comes from the latest Sunday Stamps #205 Colour Challenge.

My colour palette is made up of Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze & Very Vanilla.

I started by running my Soft Suede card base through my Big Shot using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing folder.

Next I stamped the horse image, from the Let It Ride stamp set, in Early Espresso ink on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock. I then coloured the horse using my Dark & Light Soft Suede Stampin' Blends.

The strip of Cajun Craze striped DSP comes from the retiring Nature's Poem pack and was layered under my stamped Very Vanilla layer.

To finish off, I stamped the sentiment (also from the Let It Ride stamp set) in Cajun Craze ink on Very Vanilla and cut it out using the new Stitched Nested Label Dies (available from 4th June). To break up all the Very Vanilla, I cut a second Stitched Nested Label in Cajun Craze and layered it under my sentiment label.

This was a fairly quick and easy card that would suit just about anyone. Hope you like it :)

Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop | Theme: New 2019-20 Annual Catalogue

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team Blog Hop. This month we will be sharing projects created with products in the new 2019-20 Annual Catalogue. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects.

For my new 2019-20 Annual Catalogue sneak peek, I have used the gorgeous Free as a Bird Bundle which includes the Free as a Bird Stamp Set and the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

The layout for my card today was inspired by the latest Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #389

I have also entered my card in the latest Stampin' Up! Only Challenges #SUOC223: It’s Spring! Challenge along with the latest Stamp Ink Paper #200 Designers Choice Challenge - as the Free As A Bird set is definitely a new favourite and I've used my favourite colour..... blue :)

The images in my card come from the Free As A Bird stamp set (available in the new 2019-20 Annual Catalogue from 4th June 2019) and were stamped in Memento Black ink on to some Whisper White cardstock.

The birds were cut out using a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits and then coloured using my Stampin' Blends. The colours I used were: Balmy Blue (Dark & Light), Call Me Clover (Dark & Light), Night of Navy (Light), Pineapple Punch (Dark), Pool Party (Light) and Soft Suede (Dark & Light). The leaves were also coloured using Blends and then fussy cut with scissors.

My sentiment also comes from the Free As A Bird stamp set and is stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on to some Whisper White card stock. I have cut out the sentiment using one of the new Stitched Nested Label Dies. The size I wanted to use wasn't quite long enough for the sentiment, so I partially cut it and then moved the die and partially cut the remainder (so I have a longer label than the standard die). I added some linen thread under my sentiment before adhering it to my card front with some Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

I really love the clean and simple look of this card and I feel my colour palette, that I was originally really struggling with, worked out really well. I am super happy with how this card turned out and I hope you like it too :)
