Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special Crazy Crafters team blog hop.
We are hopping with a special guest - The creative Lea Denton from the United Kingdom.
The theme of this blog hop was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Lea's cards.
After finally picking a favourite card of Lea's to CASE (as there were a few I was trying to choose from), I had my card all planned out and even started making it. Then I completely changed my mind mid-card, as I now needed to make a sympathy card (a card type that is always difficult to make) and ended up choosing a different card of Lea's for my inspiration.
Here is the card of Lea's that I ended up choosing to CASE:

Here is my version:
I stamped the flower image and sentiment, both from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, in Night of Navy. It is a little hard to see, but I added some subtle sparkle to the flowers using clear Wink of Stella. The flower buds have had pearl jewels placed on top for a little extra special touch.
The card front background is a piece of DSP from the Floral Boutique series (that is retiring soon). I have used the thin pattern die from the Flourishing Thinlits set, cut in Night of Navy, in place of the ribbon that Lea used.
I decorated the inside using another of the dies from the Flourishing Thinlits set, and a follow up sentiment to the one on the front of my card. To make the card liner stand out a little, I have used my Night of Navy ink and a sponge dauber to lightly colour the edges.
A lovely and soft card for a not so happy occasion, which I am sure will be appreciated by my recipient. Hope you like it too.
Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)

DeleteThat's really beautiful. It has real restraint and elegance. It's always difficult to make sympathy cards and I'm sorry that you needed one but you've really created something that says "I'm thinking of you and I'm here for you" which will definitely be appreciated.
