Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest - Shannon Lane

Welcome and thank you for joining me in a special Crazy Crafters team blog hop.

We are hopping with a special guest - Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Shannon Lane who is a member of the Artisan Design Team again this year. Such an inspiration!

The theme of this blog hop was to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of Shannon's cards.

Here are the cards of Shannon's that I chose to CASE:

To checkout Shannon's cards in more detail click here.

Here are my versions:

Flower coloured with Sweet Sugarplum & Peekaboo Peach inks using sponge daubers

Flower coloured with Flirty Flamingo & Peekaboo Peach inks using a blender pen

Flower coloured with Sweet Sugarplum & Peekaboo Peach inks using a blender pen

The first version I created, I coloured my flower using the emboss resist technique and sponge daubers. I decided to create 2 more cards trying out the colouring using blender pens instead to see how that would change the look of the flowers. The flowers coloured with the blender pen, I feel have a softer look to them.

I am a bit of a Washi Tape collector and always have difficultly in finding ways to use it on my cards. Well, I have used heaps on my cards and I really love how they turned out. I think I'll be using this layout in the future to help reduce my significant washi collection.

To add some bling like in Shannon's cards, I have used some Gold thread and sequins on my Sweet Sugarplum cards and Silver thread and sequins on my Flirty Flamingo card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my creations.

If you enjoyed my cards, it would make my day if you left me a comment.
Just scroll to the bottom of my post, leave your comment and you will put a smile on my dial :)

Don't forget to continue the hop all the way around to see what the very creative Crazy Crafters team have come up with.

  11. Kirsten, these are simply perfect! I love how you've updated my simple design with current products and made it brand new again. Using the washi for the edges is such a clever way to use one's stash - like you, I tend to hoard instead of use, and this is a brilliant way to add it to a card. Thank you so much for being part of this blog hop - it has been an absolute delight for me! XOXO

    1. Thanks so much Shannon. I feel the washi worked really well for the edges of the card and was so much easier than cutting and adhering DSP. Plus I got to use heaps of washi :) Will definitely be making more of these. Glad to know I'm not the only washi hoarder out there :) Thanks for the inspiration and for hopping with us.
