Today I am participating in the Stamp 'N Hop blog hop, where every month a number of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the globe will be sharing projects to help inspire you in your paper crafting journey.
My name is Kirsten, and I am from Canberra, Australia. And as we Aussies like to say...... "G'Day" and thanks for popping by :)
This is our first hop and we are all very excited to be sharing our projects inspired by this months theme: Our favourite Occasions Catalogue products.
I am finding it hard to pick just one favourite product from the Occasions catalogue as I have so many, however for todays card I have used the Magical Day Bundle, to make a 1st Birthday card for my nephew.
I have gone with a simple colour palette for my card of Whisper White & Bermuda Bay (one of my favourite Stampin' Up! colours).
The wizard image has been stamped in Memento Black Ink and coloured using my Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray (hair & moustache) and Calypso Coral (face & hands) Watercolour pencils.
My Bermuda Bay cardstock layer uses the larger sparkle stamp from the Magic Day stamp set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink along the edges.
The sentiment, also from Magical Day, is stamped with Bermuda Bay ink and the "Magical" was stamped separately and then cut out using the co-ordinating banner framelit from the Magical Mates dies. I adhered a piece of Bermuda Bay Stitched Satin Ribbon to the back of my die cut banner before adhering to my card front using mini dimensionals.
The number one (1) comes from the Number of Years stamp set and is cut out using the co-ordinating Large Numbers framelits. Before adhering this to my card using mini dimensionals, I stamped the smaller sparkle image from the Magical Day stamp set a number of times to give it a magical/sparkly look once complete.
I decorated the inside of my card using sentiments from the Pretty Kitty stamp set, and to highlight my cardstock layer, I added a little ink to the edges using a sponge dauber.
Now... what do you do when you stamp a sentiment slightly crooked?
Being a little bit of a perfectionist, I couldn't adhere my layer with the sentiment crooked, so I layered the piece on an angle and added some sparkles in each corner to make it look like it was planned all along :)
It worked out perfectly. Yay!
Thanks so much for your support and for visiting me today :)
